The film takes place during the Great Patriotic War. The main characters - Lieutenant Ogarkov and Private Jurabaev - are young people who come from different Soviet republics, different in character and life positions, but united by a common goal. The film is based on their complex relationship and actions, dictated by the background of the terrible events of the war. This is a story about human relationships, true moral values, duty to the Motherland, relatives and oneself.
